About Dr. Collins
Born and raised in Norfolk, VA, Dr. Collins realized at a young age education was his way out. After serving in the US Army, he completed his bachelor's degree and began teaching and coaching. He eventually went into administration. During that time he became recognized for his passion and ability to develop others. He has been called on to speak to groups of students, teachers, and leaders. He brings to expertise of a practitioner and a unique delivery the educates, engages, and empowers audiences across many spectrums.
Dr. Collins is extremely appreciative of his loving wife Rose and their four children (Alexis, Alyssa, Aliyah, and TJ).

Childhood
Dr. Collins grew up in Norfolk Virginia with his mother and brother. His mother worked extremely hard and that work ethic spread to both of her sons. Although challenging, his upbringing set him up for success. They always seemed to struggle financially, but he was surrounded by love and support.

Education
Dr. Collins was not an accomplished student in high school. However, while in the military he began to realize greateffort would yield great results. He started working hard, paying attention in class, and participating in class discussions. That drive led to him attaining a B.S. from the U. of Mary Hardin Baylor, an MPA from Texas State, and a doctorate, also from UMHB.

Career
Dr. Collins joined the Army after high school and strongly considered making it a career. However, he felt called to education. He has spent close to 30 years in education working as a teacher, coach, and administrator. During this time many schools and governmental organizations starting requesting him to provide student assemblies and support for staff development and Title 1 schools. His ability to connect with many audiences opened doors he never dreamed possible.
